Issue #2: Principal’s Weekly Notes and Updates for the Week of September 17-21
+ Our PreK-3 Nursery students had their first day of school. The students were at ease with the routine and enjoyed their Special Content classes, which included: Spanish Immersion class, music from the Williamsburg Music Center, technology, art, and gym.
+ Our Parent-Teacher Orientation occurred this past Tuesday, September 11. It was great to speak with parents about our goals for the children.
+ Students in Grades 5-8 chose two members from each class to run for Student Council. These students will be introduced to the entire student body Monday, September 17 at 8:00am. These students will present their speeches to Grades 5-8, and students will vote.
+ On Monday (September 10) and Friday (September 14), our Scholar’s Program met. Students began their Algebra I prep work and brainstorming their written thesis.
+ Chess Wizards began Friday, September 14. Students had a great time learning about Chess.
+ On September 19, we will be holding a school tour.
+ Our new Writing Units were distributed this week. Students in all grades: Nursery, PreK for All, and Kindergarten-Grade 8 will be working on specific writing projects that will be presented to their parents at the end of each trimester.
+ On Monday, September 17, there will be a fundraiser at Chipotle for QRCA. Check out our Facebook page for further details.
+ Our World’s Finest Chocolate Sale begins on Monday, September 17 and runs until Friday, October 12. Details will be sent home with the chocolate.
+Reminder: Fundraisers you can do for QRCA include: Box Tops for Education; ShopARoo; smile.amazon.com; Stop and Shop Rewards; and sell extra boxes of chocolate and Chancebook tickets.
+ There is a Dress Down Day and Pizza Day this upcoming week.
