Dear Parents,

This week we will learn the letter Uu. In our literacy center we will work on letter recognition and phonics activities, practice spelling our name with letter manipulatives, identify rhyming words, and work with CVC words. We will read Umbrella by Taro Yashima. We will also read Patrick, Patron Saint of Ireland, by Tomie dePaola, as well as Fin M’Coul, and Jamie O’Rourke and the Big Potato. In social studies we will learn about Ireland, and we will explore Irish music, art, and dance. We will also work on a project for our Women’s History Month study. In our math center we will work on number recognition 1-10, counting, and addition and subtraction activities using manipulatives. In our science center we will experiment with magnets and learn about rainbows. In religion we will continue to observe Lent, and we will read Gospel stories of mercy and forgiveness. On Friday we will have a small St. Patrick’s day celebration after lunch.

  1. On Friday we will have a small St. Patrick’s day party! Please consider having your child wear something green on this day. If you would like to bring in a small treat for the children, please be sure that it is store bought and nut free. Thank you!

      Have a great week!

                                                                                                                       Sincerely,

                                                                                                                  Mrs. Marinelli
