This week we will continue our research about the solar system, the star constellations, and space exploration. Many of our learning centers will include activities that relate to this theme. In our literacy center we will learn the letter Tt, and we will work on spelling and writing our names, identifying rhymes, and working with CVC words. We will read The Tortoise and the Hare, The Enormous Turnip, My Turtle Won’t Move, and books related to our solar system project work. In our math center we will work on simple addition and subtraction stories and equations, create patterns, and play a board game using a 1-5 die. In social studies we are continuing our project work about communities, focusing on our immediate community circles. In religion we will continue to explore stories from the Gospels, including The Prodigal Son, and The Good Samaritan.
- Please be reminded that there is no school on Friday, March 6th, due to a professional development workshop for the teachers.
- Please send in a few Ziplock bags (gallon size) to keep in your child’s cubby in the event of a clothing change. As New York moves away from using plastic grocery bags, we will be in need of ziplock bags to send home wet clothes. Please be sure to send in new bags whenever wet clothes are sent home. Thank you for your cooperation.
Have a great week!
