Dear Parents and Students,
Good morning! I hope you had a wonderful Easter and a blessed Divine Mercy Sunday! I’m so glad to be back with you today!
This week we will be learning the letter Y. In our literacy centers we will work on phonological awareness and word building using an Elkonin box template. We will explore communities in Africa, and visit people from the Ashanti and Samburu nations. We will read legends from these communities, including Anansi the Spider, The Spider Weaver, and Why the Sun and Moon Live in the Sky. We will also learn about some of the animals that live in Africa. In science, we will continue to explore the season of spring, and we will learn about the life cycle of plants. Our activities in math and art will reflect our social studies and science lessons. Please go to Class Dojo for the daily lessons, and links to my YouTube video lessons to supplement our daily ZOOM sessions.
Have a great day today! I will see you on ZOOM at 1PM and 5PM each day!
Ms. Nilsa and I are sending you all our warmest wishes!
